My name is Martin Lavender aka, ‘Lord Lav’.  I’m an independent hip hop artist from Southampton in the UK.  For those of you that want to check out my music to get an idea of what I’m about you can click here

I do it all!  I rap, I produce my own beats and I do my own DJ cuts.  I’m also a long time zombie film fanatic and I even managed to weave my way into an independent zombie film due out later this year.

For this project I have decided to combine my love of hip hop music and zombies, to create a rap album titled ‘Lord of the Dead’.  This is going to be an album with a difference in that it will have a story running through it about life in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

In true George Romero style, there is more to this slightly tongue in cheek story than the world simply being over run by flesh eating ghouls.  There is a deeper meaning.  In a nutshell, it is about living amongst the ‘brain dead’ people of society and trying not to ‘catch’ the same attitudes to life.  It’s about always pursuing your dreams whatever they are, despite the loneliness and dangers that come with doing so.

Hopefully this project results in an album that is comical, entertaining and inspiring for rap, hip hop and zombie fans alike.

I’m really excited about completing this project and creating a full length LP especially as this will actually be my first LP ever!
